hygrometer is a tool that measures how much moisture is in the air (humidity). During water damage cleanup, crews use it to check if wet areas are drying properly.

Why it’s important:

  • Shows if dehumidifiers are working
  • Helps prevent mold by making sure air isn’t too damp
  • Looks like a little box or a smartphone sensor

Example: The restoration team checked the hygrometer to see if the basement humidity was low enough to stop mold growth.
