Extraction

« Back to Glossary Index

Extraction is the process of removing standing water or deep moisture from carpets, floors, and other materials after a flood or leak. It’s done using powerful vacuums or pumps that suck up water fast—way better than a regular mop or towel!

Why it’s important:

  • Gets rid of water quickly to prevent more damage.
  • Helps stop mold from growing.
  • Makes drying easier and faster.

Example: The crew used a heavy-duty extraction machine to pull water out of the soaked carpet before it could ruin the floor underneath.
